Boldt Peralada, an Argentine-Spanish investor consortium funding the Ovalle Casino & Resort’s development in Chile recently announced in a statement dated June 19 that their new casino facility will officially open its doors on March 12, 2016. Prior to the official inauguration, the consortium is planning a soft opening in February 2016. An investment of US $ 50 million is now allocated to build the gaming venue. The resort’s commercial director, Juan Carlos Salaberry, said that 43% of the works are already completed. Everything will be in place by December, he mentioned. He also added that the installation of various equipment in the gaming room, along with interior decoration works will begin in January 2016.
According to William Gabela, director of corporate affairs at Boldt Peralada, Ovalle is the fifth potential city chosen by the consortium to operate gaming services. Apart from being one of the largest gaming destinations in South America, Ovalle is a great place for relaxation: the city is home to a sumptuous wine spa. The construction of Ovalle Casino & Resort will reportedly create 300 jobs in the area, as well as 1,500 part-time positions. The Mayor of the city, Claudio Renteria, cherished that the resort will strongly contribute to the growth in Chile’s tourism activities.
